Special Pricing – Floating Fleets and Empty Legs

Below is the full list of non-based Floating Fleet aircraft available for special one-way pricing in the US, Canada and Caribbean.  These can be very advantageous for a one-way flight, or round trip flights over several days – where holding an aircraft over is more expensive.

Empty Legs are available also nationwide. Hundreds of empty legs are available nationwide at any given time, most often on short notice of two weeks or less.  It’s not common and there are certain limitations, but when an empty leg matches up with a flight need, there is no better value in private flying.  New Flight Charters has the widest reach of one-way, empty leg and based aircraft in the industry.

Check the best options available for your flight need.  One of our friendly, helpful managers is standing by at (888) 701-3843 or email.

The Straight Facts On Jet Cards and Private Jet Quote Pricing

When aircraft positioning will create your best cost or preferred jet option, it is included at cost. New Flight Charters is still less expensive than jet card companies, memberships and charter services, and utilizes the same quality aircraft and crews.

Know the private jet charter facts. There is no ‘free positioning.’ There is significant cost to moving or flying an aircraft which must be included somewhere in cost, check overall hourly rates or add-ons. Positioning is part of jet cards’ and memberships’ high hourly rate – not to mention the employees and overhead for management, marketing, accounting, etc. You see it in their hourly rates. Be knowledgeable about the advertising and real costs, and compare New Flight Charters pricing for the same trip.

    Private Jet Charter Quote Example:

New Flight Charters recently researched and prepared a private jet road-show itinerary for an entertainment industry client in Los Angeles.  With the client’s destination locations, New Flight located the nearest suitable airports, in one case less than a mile from the destination.  New Flight is also coordinating ground transportation for each location, and in-flight custom catering for each flight leg.

    • Day 1 Los Angeles CA – Broomfield (Denver) CO
    • Day 2 Broomfield (Denver) CO – Kansas City MO
    • Day 3 Kansas City MO – Knoxville TN
    • Day 4 Knoxville TN – Addison (Dallas) TX

New Flight Charters researched the best private jets and charter operators available for this trip, communicating with over 200 jet charter operators who manage over 800 total private jets, and narrowed the selection to the top 5 light jets, top 3 midsize jets, and top 2 super-midsize jets available for this trip.

All are top-rated independent jets and FAA registered operators, reviewed and rated or approved by ARG/US, Wyvern LTD, or both.  Several are also IS-BAO registered or Air Charter Safety Foundation approved.  New Flight’s primary goal is to arrange the safest jet charters, and safety always comes first.  Charters arranged by New Flight have a perfect safety history.  Of the safest aircraft options, the best values for the trip in each aircraft category are listed below:

    Light Jet

    $24, 350 Citation S/II
    $24,827 Learjet 35
    $27,142 Learjet 31
    $27,652 Hawker 400XP
    $27,793 Premier

    Midsize Jet

    $28,705 Citation VII
    $29,908 Learjet 60
    $35,634 Learjet 45

    Super-Midsize Jet

    $40,136 Hawker 1000
    $46,304 Falcon 50

The flight itinerary involves approximately 8 hours over 4 days.

Jet charter prices above are all-inclusive, meaning they include all expected costs for the trip including taxes, airport fees, fuel, overnight costs, crew costs and the like.  Costs not included in the price, which would be billed only in their unlikely event, include aircraft de-icing, additional flight time for weather or air traffic control, or an itinerary change requested by the passengers.

As you can see, available pricing through New Flight is far better than the air charter broker directory and most individual charter services and jet card programs, in some cases almost 1/2 the price, and involves no advance pre-payment, or large deposit or investment.  The charter is fully cancelable without penalty up to 48 hours prior to departure. New Flight Charters was referred to in an article about Wheels Up membership costs.

    Jet Charter Pricing Q & A:
Q: Can I get a private jet charter flight for under $10,000?

A: It’s very rare. If a flight of 1-hour or less matches up with a light jet empty leg, it may be under $10,000 total.  Executive turboprops such as the Pilatus PC-12 or King Air series will typically be under $10,000 for a 1-hour flight or same-day round trip in many parts of the country.  See example costs above.

Q: What about the articles I see about empty legs for dirt cheap, same as airline fares, or even 1/2 price?

A: There is a market for all flights, and a well-fitting empty leg will typically be around 75% of standard pricing. Keep in mind, Empty Legs are a convenient marketing angle to attract interest.  Like they say, if it sounds too good to be true…

Q: How far in advance is best for quotes and booking? The earlier the better?

A: Not usually. Different from the airlines, the best jet charter quotes and availability are less than 2 months in advance, often less than 1 month. Typically specific aircraft availability and pricing are not set further in advance.

Q: When is the best time to find an empty leg?

A: Most jet charters book less than 2 weeks in advance, so that is when the most empty legs become available in aircraft schedules.

Q: I hear about floating fleets with one-way pricing, what is that?

A: The biggest trend in jet charter the past decade is specific fleets that string one-way flights together in their schedules, reducing the positioning costs of traditional charters, thus allowing for reduced ‘one-way’ pricing. These are often the best cost options for one-way flights of 2 hours or more. These are the same fleets most jet cards and memberships use to minimize their costs below the rates their customers are paying.

Q: Are there exceptions? If a jet is flying empty anyway, won’t they take me for cheap for at least some income?

A: There is a market for flights in the charter industry, so each flight has a market value even up to hours before. Also, flying under charter’s FAA Part-135 regulations is more restrictive, expensive and consuming than flying empty repositioning under Part-91.

Q: The airline tickets for this trip are so expensive, if 6 of us chartered our own jet could it be similar or not much more?

A: See the above actual average costs

Q: Are the above example charter costs your set rates or guaranteed?

A: No, but they are typical and what we would expect as every-day best in the charter market. For a specific date and itinerary quotes may be a little lower or a bit higher, however we would expect in most cases to be in this range. We do have the widest availability and guaranteed best price industry-wide.

Q: How can I get a quick real estimate of what a flight might cost, for our decision-making?
